Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow
accumulations of 3-5 inches across Metro Houston and other central areas.
Total snow accumulations of 1-3 inches for areas north of Metro Houston and along the coast. Ice accumulations of up to one
tenth of an inch possible.
Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, and Wednesday morning commutes.
Heavy bands of snow and sleet possible late
Monday night through early Tuesday afternoon. Exact locations of these bands are uncertain. Possible heavier bands of snow could result in localized accumulations greater than 5 inches.
Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the
motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is winterized and in good working order.
