Hey guys, this is Reggie with SBP. I want to introduce you to some of the tools that we use for mucking and gutting. Of course, we’re going to make sure that we are fully prepped, wearing our PPE first. Additionally, you want to wear some waterproof shoes, like these boots. And for pulling things from above you want to wear a hard hat.
So here we have a shovel. Use the shovel to scoop the mud into a wheelbarrow then take it outside. For removing flooring and trim you’re going to want to use something like a crowbar and a prybar. To remove your drywall of course you want to determine your 4ft level. Use that with a tape measure. And if you need to make your cuts use something like a utility knife or a keyhole saw.
Additionally, it’s going to be useful when removing drywall to use a hammer. Prybar and crowbar as necessary. At the corner of your drywall, you’re going to find corner bead. Using a tin snips is going to be your easiest way to remove that corner bead.
To bag your insulation, you’re going to want something that’s very durable. And for that we use contractor bags that are thick. For tougher spots such as some flooring you might want to use a sledge hammer or a bigger crowbar.
